My whole career, I’ve had one goal

…to help each child I teach reach their greatest potential. The question, always, is how. For me, that means:

  • Creating a genuine connection with each child and their parents

  • Understanding that child’s struggles and strengths

  • Working with other educational professionals to put a plan of action in place

This approach drives the way I teach and communicate. It also has driven me to obtain the right schooling, experience, and certifications, including:

  • A Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and English

  • A Master of Arts degree in Education

  • A post-graduate endorsement in special education

  • Certifications in elementary education, ELA, and special education

  • Initial training in the Wilson Reading Program

  • 18+ years of classroom experience

On a personal level, I’m a single parent of two adult daughters. I know what it’s like to be a mom navigating kids and school, while balancing work and life’s demands. My favorite part of EduSteps is working with and getting to know my students and their families.
